Textbook Resources
Some textbook resources I found helpful, categorized roughly by topics and difficulty.
Physics
Electromagnetism
- Zangwill Andrew (1988). Modern Electrodynamics
- Jackson J. D. (1999) Classical Electrodynamics (Classic textbook on electrodynamics)
- Smythe William (1989) Static and Dynamic Electricity (This book is on the difficult side of the spectrum for undergraduate reading, but the author shows off his math skills so much that it’s cool to read.)
Quantum Mechanics
- Sakurai, J. J.; Napolitano, Jim (2020). Modern Quantum Mechanics
- Eisberg, Robert; Resnick, Robert (1985). Quantum Physics of Atoms, Molecules, Solids, Nuclei, and Particles 2e (Main textbook used by CKQuantumBros. If you’re interested, you can go to the YouTube channel!)
Quantum Field Theory
- Lancaster, Tom; Blundell, Stephen, J. (2014). Quantum Field Theory for the Gifted Amateur (This is the textbook used in Professor’s Hsieh’s Quantum Field Theory I course)
- Peskin, M. E.; Schroeder, D. Y. (2018). An Introduction to Quantum Field Theory(A much more rigorous book. But like many classics, this book has some very important steps either skipped or put in a strange logical order, which makes having a lot of discussions online a very fortunate thing.)
Biophysics
- David Tong: Lectures on Mathematical Biology
- Nelson, Philip (2001). Biological Physics Energy, Information, Life\
Ultrafast Optics
- Boyd, Robert (2020). Nonlinear Optics 4e
- Keller, Ursula (2021). Ultrafast Lasers(There seems to be official copies of this book by Springer available on the Internet, so I will provide a downloadable copy here.)
- Pickering, James David (2021). Ultrafast Lasers and Optics for Experimentalists
Mathematics
Algebra
Classical Analysis
- Marsden, J. E. (1974). Elementary Classical Analysis 2e
- Tao, Terence (2006). Analysis I
- Tao, Terence (2006). Analysis II
- Rudin, Walter (2007). Principles of Mathematical Analysis 3e (2007)
Geometry
Dynamical Systems
